Stroopy names

Baby Name Wizard is all over this one.

And this all makes me wonder: is there a psychology researcher somewhere with a dog named Stroopy? Probably so.

P.S. I just made the mistake of googling “Stroopy.” Don’t do it. I was referring to this.

    • In Dutch, “stroop” means syrup in English. My wife’s name is Deb and our daughter’s name is Becky; because the former ends with a “b” and the latter begins with a “b” this produces no end of tongue-tying confusion. I wonder if this is an example of a wider phenomenon whereby the mind is ahead of (behind?) the tongue.
