Elena Llaudet writes with a few updates about the instructor resources for her book with Kosuke Imai, Data Analysis for Social Science:

#1: I [Llaudet] have thoroughly revised my syllabus and lecture slides—it was time! You can preview the updated versions on my website and download the source files from PUP’s website.

#2: I have also put together a new page for all the student-facing materials we are building. The resources currently available include:

– Interactive graphs: dynamic, browser-based visualizations designed to help students build intuition about key statistical concepts. (They are now written in JavaScript, so that students can interact with them directly in their browser without any server issues.)

– Self-graded review exercises: interactive R tutorials with 50–60 questions each, combining multiple-choice and hands-on coding tasks. Students receive immediate feedback and can generate progress reports. Tutorials for chapters 1 and 2 are available now, and the tutorial for chapter 3 is coming soon. Eventually, there will be one for each chapter of the book.

I’ve not looked into these new materials, but I’m a big fan of their book. It’s not perfect (see discussion thread here), but I much prefer it to all the other introductory statistics books out there, and I recommend it to my students as background material when learning about applied regression from our book, Regression and Other Stories.
