Join us for an online information session on February 21 at 6pm to learn more about Columbia University’s M.S. in Political Analytics. We’ll discuss the program’s rigorous suite of tailored political science and applied quantitative analytics courses.
Sounds interesting!
Columbia is somewhat infamous for offering masters programs that are sleazy, to say the least. Is this a good masters program or a sleazy one?

I don’t know anything about this new program except that it is directed by Greg Wawro, who was one of the creators (along with me and one other person) of Columbia’s Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences (QMSS) program. I think QMSS has been a great success, not sleazy at all. If you want to know more, I suggest you go to the information session.
The issue with some master’s programs at Columbia is that their graduates tend not get jobs that pay enough. The new political analytics program intends for its graduates to get jobs with political campaigns, congressional committees, lobbying, etc. Those pay decently if you are on the analytics side, as opposed to answering snail mail from constituents.
