Kaiser Fung and I have a new weekly column for the Daily Beast. After much deliberation, we gave it the title Statbusters (the runner-up choice was Dirty Data; my personal preference was Statboyz in the Hood, but, hey, who ever listens to me on anything?).
The column will appear every Saturday, and Kaiser and I are planning to alternate. Should be fun. The first column will go online this Saturday.
P.S. It didn’t go online until Sunday. It’s here.
Statbusters like Mythbusters and Ghostbusters? …
Statboyz in the Hood was better by two orders of magnitude.
I hope that you’ll both write the columns in a way that they can be later collected as a book. Really looking forward to this!
I hope it’s not going to be all about data viz nazi critiques
Data viz nazi??? Huh? I googled *data viz nazi* and this was the most relevant image that came up.
So, no, I don’t think you have to worry about that.
No soccer related blogging means no jrc at the new digs.
Statsboyz was one of those should win but won’t win (Oscar) predictions.
I also like the dark humor from whoever suggested A Mean Column.
Anon: perhaps you would be kind enough to point to a critique that you don’t consider as “nazi”. And no, the column is not about data viz though it is one possible topic as it is part of stats.
Does it have a URL yet?
See P.S. above.
